Kids

One thing I think I will always remember about childhood is the yelling of slug bug in the car.  My kids now do this too.  The only difference is that they do not actually slug each other like Maxwell and I did as kids.  My children, especially Olivia have systematically memorized where all of the slug bugs are in the neighborhood and will call them out, even half asleep.  Occasionally this causes fights because Olivia will call them out before she sees them but also sometimes they save some for little Ruby to call out so she isn't left out of the game.  I love the sense of altruism... Even in a silly invented game.

12 is full of lava lamp and hair chalk.  Happy birthday my tiny little human. 

These things happen

On a more regular basis than I am willing to admit.  I am eating  tots for breakfast.... At 2pm.  My child insists they are beautiful with ice on them.  She would still like them hot however.  I am glad as I feel eating frozen tots would elevate us to a low that I have yet to experience.  I have also concluded from yesterday's misadventures that eating pumpkin seeds for breakfast is a mistake.
