new thing

I found the coolest website... actually someone showed it to me... but anyway. It's called spark people and they have recipes and diet plans and EVERYTHING is free!! I really need to start cooking again... or at least make things accessable for Dwain to cook while I'm at work. We have eaten far too much fast food lately... I think I sweat grease now... Um.. ewwww...
Also... the kids think that anything good comes from Mcdonalds... it would be nice to scratch that word out of their vocabularies again...

Here it is

http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/home.asp

They wouldn't let me join cause I was pregnant... SO I LIED MOOHOOOHAHAHA. I mostly just want the recipes for my greasy family anyway :P

Wait... stop the world

I want to just slow down time for awhile and live in this moment. Ava is so cute now. She is still a ball of fire and runs this house like she was born to but there is a difference to her now. She is developing patience and becoming one of the children and not just my precious wild baby. I am excited to watch her grow every day but also a little sad. This toddler time is one of my favorite parts of growing up. They are still so small and dependent yet they put their minds to doing so much for themselves. She is easily frustrated by big people who get in her way and she runs around the house with a purpose now. That purpose is usually destruction of property. She likes to throw all the laundry in the bathtub and take all the books off the shelves repeatedly. She also likes to open the pantry door and run off with an entire box of cereal... trailing it's contents as she runs. The girls and I spend a great deal of time cleaning up after her... but we also spend a great deal of time enjoying her antics. It is a fair trade I think.

Moved the kids

I switched Olivia back into Kayla's room yesterday that way the oldest two could share and the youngest two could share. Seemed like the fairest possible arrangement. Wow what a lot of work!!! I pulled out 3 garbage bags (yard size) of trash from their room as well as 3 garbage bags of TOYS that they need to give away... That still left them with 8 of those tote thingies full'o'crap!

I can't believe what piggies my little girls are!!!

baby Ruby

Oh the suspense!!

Yesterday was quite exciting. I put the girls in daycare and headed into Boise for my ultrasound appointment. I had to stop and buy a new phone first because my old one kept turning off and infuriating my poor husband. I got this one It's pretty cool!! Much better than my old substandard Dorado that I was using since the upsetting breakage of my remix. I miss that phone. This one looks even better though!!!
Anyway... it turned out that I was WAAAAAAY early for my appointment and decided to go and get my new drivers licence. I have been driving on an expired one since my birthday in August. Of course the picture is awful but the DMV was a relatively painless experience.
In case you hadn't noticed... all this is stalling and pointless. The real reason for this post is...
The baby is.....
A GIRL!! Holy cow.. another girl. Poor poor Dwain. She looked good and healthy but they had a difficult time visualizing her heart and seeing all four chambers so we will have to go back to look again. I highly doubt she will grow a penis in that time though even though Dwain is still slightly hopeful. Well here she is... I also have a rather long video but I'm not sure it will load. We'll see I guess.

Kayla's first week of school

Simply Smashing
On Tuesday, the first day of school, I dropped a note off at the office with instructions for Kayla to ride the bus home from daycare. 3:00 came around and I picked up Olivia (no bus for kindergardners first 2 days) and went home to try to sleep a little longer before work. At 3:30, a half an hour after school was over I get a call from the office of the school... Kayla had EATEN her note and had NOT ridden the bus. I needed to pick her up immediatly. Was not amused... Was in fact LIVID and ready to give the school a swift kick in the behind. Kayla was sitting in the office looking dejected and trying to put on her best ashamed face. She said..."well... you know I don't like to go to daycare mom." She had also spent the day ripping holes in her brand new school dress. Great first day... I felt like this

Second day went without significant events.

Third day: I pick her up and she is standing with two VERY frazzled teachers. They said that perhaps Kayla should not be allowed to use the restroom by herself in the afternoons. "What?" Apparantly... around a half an hour after she had left the classroom to use the bathroom she was found screaming and running wildly through the restroom. She had rubbed soap in her hair and was also eating it. I said "well at least it was something clean she was eating this time". I also told them that we didnt' usually let her alone in the bathroom at home either. Then I gritted my teeth and hugging her a little too hard drug her to the car. She looked somewhat like a rabid animal.

Lets hope the rest of this year goes just as smoothly.

pregnancy calendar

We find out in a week if it is a boy or a girl... I guess I should tell my work at some point.

Fetal development in pregnancy week 20:fetus in fifth month
This week you're carrying about 10.5 inches and 10.5 ounces of solid baby-miracle-goodness! Their little delicates bones continue to ossify and toughen while their itsy bitsy finger and toe pads are finishing up. Your little monkey now has teeth buds, although they’re hidden beneath the gum line. And finally! Their limbs have reached their relative proportions—no more alien baby! Their cute pink lips are more defined, and might be helping out in a bit of prenatal thumb-sucking. If you have a little boy, then their tiny testes are descending, though they have not yet passed the abdominal wall. What’s more, eyelashes and eyebrows are also visible. At this point, your little one really looks like a miniature baby—and we do mean miniature as your little swimmer currently weighs a mere eighth of their final birth weight. With half the pregnancy behind you, the most significant gains are yet to come!

The bug story

When we were in Idaho City, in the cemetary Kayla caught this magnificent bug on the path. She was told that once we got back to the car she should let it go. She agreed and we all went on our way. By the time we got back to the car, I had totally forgotten about the bug and Kayla, of course, snuck it into the car. It was forgotten the rest of the weekend.

It wasn't until the ride home that the bug made it's appearance again. I was in the van and Dwain was in the car, we were on the phone on the way home and suddenly I hear this horrendous screaming. Dwain yelps "I have to pull over!!"
The bug was a velvet ant... actually it was a wingless wasp with a stinger the size of it's abdomen. Kayla had decided to poke it on the way home and it had stung her... then she screamed and threw it behind her and it was lose in the car!! Dwain trapped it under the seat and I killed it the next day.. I am wondering if Kayla learned anything from this experience HAHA.

Road trip!!

Well.. not really. Idaho city is only about 40 minutes away. BUT with three kids it seemed like an extended road trip. We left right after Dwain got off work and drove up into the windey desert hills and into the woods. I can only think... when are we going back??? It was wonderful... the air was clean and smelled like pine. The kids had a great time playing in the woods. Kayla even caught a bug... which would only cause us problems later. The hotel we stayed in was called the Prospector inn. It was only 58 dollars for a double room with three beds. We had a stove, microwave, fridge, dishes and a kitchen sink. It was really nice. I felt like I could have stayed a week. Ava even slept okay. The only downfall was that there was no air conditioning in the rooms but we didn't go there until the evening anyway when it had started to cool off.
We walked in the old cemetary and took the kids out for ice cream at Saspirillas. They made a huge mess and were sticky, gross and happy. All in all... we couldn't have had a better weekend. I am really glad we did it and wish I could escape the house every weekend!!

IDAHO city!!

It looks like this plan won out in the end. I am so excited... I gave Kayla one of her pills. I love going to Idaho city because it is a ghost town and I can kind of let the kids run free (within sight of course) . There is an old cematary to explore and historical buildings to look at. There is also a small park. There used to be a cheap hotel along the main strip to stay at. I hope it is still there. If we can't find lodging then we will probably go home tonight. It isn't really a long drive anyway and I LOOOOVE the scenery. I really miss being out in the woods. The kids can feel the anticipation and are getting quite wound up but I still have a TON to do before we go. YAY!!

Berry Patch

I think I'm going to take the kids to the Berry ranch today. Paula gave me a great idea about a petting zoo trip and so I have busily set about finding one in my area. Paula is so much fun.. I think if it weren't such a HUGE production to go anywhere, I would be too. It takes an army to move this bunch and this summer they are totally wild. Not to mention the fact that I am wiped out...

Also, a side note... Kayla is off her meds for the summer... she runs around the house going nenenenenenenenenenenene... I'm gonna go off my rocker in a few. I am working on this enjoying the moment thing... I just wish that I didn't regret every "fun" trip we took together LOL. Sometimes my kids are ANYTHING but fun. Maybe we'll go get a hotel in Idaho City tonight. Dwain's dad is sopposed to be here tomorrow.. don't know when. I just need to get out of here for awhile.

I donno... Idaho City is winning out... hmmm

Watch out for falling ME

Funniest kid

Ava is SOOO funny. I was getting the shower ready for the girls.. had it running while they were finding their towels and I hear Ava's dog ordering voice sounding strangly amplified. "WAWAWAWA LINKA LINKA" she says in the deep voice of someone very experienced in dog training. This is what I found HAHAHA

I love my nephew~~

This baby is the sweetest most expressive baby in the world!! Yesterday Chelsie met me at work so that we could go shopping together and she brought the Quinn man. I was walking down from work in my usual daze staring at the pictures on the wall and running my day through my head when I heard MUUUAAAAAAAAAHHH!~~ I turned to look and the sweetest fat baby was stretching his arms out to me with his mouth wide open waiting to give me a HUGE slobbery kiss! How could anyone resist that!! I swear... I will never be able to say no to this kid! He's got it made... :D

New things

I love my husband. He brought home these two little creatures in his hat yesterday for me to feed. I was annoyed at first... (when do i have time for things like this??) but then I saw his sweet hopeful expression. "hun, I couldn't just leave them" Apparanty some seagulls were destroying little sparrow nests and taking the babies... Dwain found these two alive. They are very healthy little things but eat every 2 hours on the dot. I am just glad they are sparrow babies instead of human babies... sparrow babies sleep through the night ;)

Kayla's zoo trip..

So just to be fair. I went to the zoo with Kayla's class.. this was MUCH more of an undertaking then going with Olivia's head start. I was assigned five children (some of the most hyper I might add) We went to the zoo, the park and the nature center. The kids had a blast.. I was a little nervous that this was going to be too much to handle but it turned out to be pretty fun in the end. I was very exausted by the time we were through though and still had my pinning ceremony to go to that night. WOW.. what a long day that was.

Anyway.. here are some pictures of that.
